Housing Initiatives

Creating Sustainable Communities, One Home at a Time is pleased to announce that we have selected the non profit The CT Coalition to End Homelessness.to be the recipient of our sponsorship funding. Their mission statement is the following: “The Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness, (CCEH) in partnership with members and communities throughout the state, creates change through leadership, advocacy, and building the capacity of members and the field to respond to environmental challenges. Our collective mission is to prevent and end homelessness in Connecticut” “CCEH provides grassroots organizing and technical assistance for Community Plans to End Homelessness. We help providers and community stakeholders work together – more effectively and efficiently – to end homelessness through embracing best practices and working as a team.” CSC is excited to be a contributing partner to a statewide non profit that is working to provide safe, permanent and affordable housing for all residents.

At CSC, we believe affordable housing options and workforce career development opportunities are critical components of Creating Sustainable Communities. Real Estate Agents are well positioned to play an important role in both.

Materials Management Careers

Creating Sustainable Communities is pleased to announce our partnership with The Junkluggers, “Saving Our World, One Lug at a Time”. The mission of Junkluggers is in direct alignment with the mission of CSC with respect to environmental stewardship and the support of careers in Green Workforce Development. These careers include the following:

  • Recycling Careers
  • Repurposing Careers
  • Materials Distribution Careers

In addition, The Junkluggers offers the convenience of full or partial cleanouts of your home. Their workers will organize and sort all of your unwanted household items to ensure that usable items are donated to those who need them and unusable items are distributed to the proper repurposing or recycling facilities.

Energy Efficiency Careers

Creating Sustainable Communities, One Home at a Time is pleased to announce our alignment with Efficiency for All, a CT based non profit, to support their Workforce Development Energy Efficiency Training Programs. This alignment fulfills the vocational mission of Creating Sustainable Communities, One Home at a Time.

EFA CT Workforce Program

Program Participants will gain BPI certifications, OSHA, Lead RRP and hands-on training through the Efficiency For All CT workforce development program. These certificates are required to work in the State of CT EnergizeCT program as a lead tech.

Efficiency For All’s Green jobs EE workforce training program, is a state of Connecticut supported Energy Efficiency workforce development program. This program is a 12 week program, inclusive of a 6-week classroom training and hands-on training, and a 6-week Paid Work Experience internship program.

This successful statewide workforce development program has trained dozens of technicians since its inception over two years ago. Graduates have been hired by energy efficiency companies across the State for careers as energy technicians. Starting wages range from $17-$26 per hour!
