Dedication of CSC to Betty McCoy and Leticia Colon de Mejias

We are proud to announce that we are dedicating CSC to two strong women who inspired us to embark on our journey to start a Sustainability movement that promotes social equity and environmental stewardship. Through their lifetime achievements of service to those who live in underserved communities, these two extraordinary and accomplished women of color have worked to serve others with unwavering resolve and focused determination. They have devoted their lives to fighting the injustices that perpetuate the cycle of poverty and the societal inequities that constrain the ability of those who live in underserved communities to pursue quality education and career opportunities that pay living wages, thereby, weakening their ability to afford permanent, safe, and energy-efficient housing in neighborhoods with clean air quality and healthy living conditions. We are honored to recognize Betty T McCoy (1934-2009) and Leticia Colon de Mejias for their pioneering work to create equitable, sustainable, and resilient communities.

Leticia is a well-known climate activist, scientist, eco-warrior, speaker, writer, green jobs training developer, and entrepreneur and has received multiple awards for her work.
